Nathan and Devon met at Wheaton College, were married on Lake Tahoe, and moved to Knoxville in 2005 to help plant Christ Church Knoxville. The Lord has blessed them with five children: Kendra, Carson, Bryan, Brielle, and Gavin. Nathan is completing his PhD in Biblical Spirituality from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Devon is working toward her Masters in Biblical Counseling from Southern as well. Nathan desires to study, preach, and teach in such a way that the church increases in their knowledge of God, deepens in their love for Christ, and walks increasingly dependent on the Holy Spirit. Devon is passionate about raising her family, counseling the Word, and redeeming the dance of the nations. As a family, the Tarrs enjoy reading, hiking, and traveling.
Jack met Kathy in High School and immediately scooped her up, recognizing the treasure she is! They have been married since 1971 and have six children: Nathan, Ashley, Brittany, Taylor, Brandon, and Chandler. They also have five grandchildren. Jack graduated from Carson Newman College, UT Center for the Health Sciences with an MD degree. He then spent 7 years in the Navy both training in Family Medicine and as a staff physician. Later, he studied for two years at Talbot Seminary taking Masters level courses in Biblical Studies. Jack and Kathy have been involved with a number of church plants and desire to see the church strengthened through strong teaching, missions and especially toward reaching unreached peoples across the earth, thus hastening Christ’s return.
Jonathan and Kristin met in Knoxville and have been married for 20 years. They have been members of Christ Church since it was planted in 2005. The Lord has blessed them with four children: Molly Ann, Thomas, Moriah and Judah. Jonathan has his own architecture firm in Knoxville and has been practicing for 20 years. Jonathan desires to see men walking in the freedom Christ has purchased and to see families restored and strengthened to walk in the fullness of life that Jesus came to give. He sees the means of grace that the body of Christ is for the growth of God’s people and desires the blessing that comes as we are connected in fellowship with the Lord and with one another. As a family, the Millers love traveling, adventures in the great outdoors, and fellowship with beloved brothers and sisters in the family of God.
Andy has been married to Jessica since 2000 and is father to Josiah and Evelyn. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from College of the Ozarks in 2007 and earned his CPA license from the state of TN in 2010. Andy desires to proclaim the beauty, perfection and glory of Christ in a way that is scripturally faithful. He longs to teach others to be led forward by the Spirit in God’s perfect plan for all believers: Christlikeness. The Ashton family enjoys camping and being outdoors together.
Mark has been married to Ashley since 2008 and is father to Elias, Owen, and Eleanor. He received an M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. He is now a Ph.D. candidate in Biblical Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is passionate about joining God’s work in bringing the gospel to the nations and has served in theological and pastoral training in several international settings. He currently teaches literature, history, and theology at Paideia Academy, a classical Christian school in Knoxville.
Chris has been married to Lauren since 2007 and is father to Ezra and Haven. He graduated from UTC with a degree in Secondary Education. He then moved back to Christian Academy of Knoxville to teach a wide range of Bible curriculum and oversee the student-led worship team for 7 years. He now works as the Creative Director and music composer for a software development studio based out of San Diego, CA. Chris desires that God’s people would be more profoundly awakened to the glory of His Word and the fullness of His Person revealed there, “For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things.” (Ps. 107:9) The Perkins family loves the fellowship of His church, guessing games around the dinner table, building forts, and laughing together.

For the past 38 years, Kathy has pursued her passion of sharing the beauty of Jesus alongside her husband Jack, a Family Practice Physician, through their shared calling to family, ministry and medicine. They moved their family to Knoxville in 1986, to plant Fellowship Church, where Jack served as an elder and Kathy established the Women’s Ministry. Having received theological training from both Southern Seminary and King’s Seminary, Kathy currently has the joy of leading Fully Alive Women’s Ministry, Prayer Events and Children’s Ministries locally and internationally. She and Jack have six children and five grandchildren.
